Online Safety, Reporting & Complaints
Effective date: 2026-09-22
SMSocial provides tools for reporting and moderating user-generated content. This page explains the public route for safety concerns and complaints on this deployment. It does not replace the operator’s separate legal duties to assess and manage online-safety risks.
How to report a concern
- For a post: use the Report action on the post where available. Reports enter the SMSocial moderation workflow.
- For illegal content, urgent safety concerns, account/profile issues, private-message concerns or anything not covered by the in-product tool: contact the safety team using the address below.
- Include the URL, account or content identifier, what happened, why you believe it breaches law or our rules, and any relevant context. Do not send illegal files as attachments unless specifically requested through a lawful process.

What happens after a report
Reports may be triaged based on severity, immediacy, legal risk and user-safety impact. We may preserve relevant evidence, investigate context, remove or restrict content, take account action, request more information, or conclude that no action is required. Where law requires action or disclosure, we may cooperate with competent authorities.
Complaints and moderation decisions
If you believe we failed to act on illegal or rule-breaking content, removed content incorrectly, restricted your account unfairly, or did not handle a safety report appropriately, email the safety contact with the subject “Complaint” and include the relevant report, content or account reference. Complaints should be reviewed by someone with appropriate authority who was not solely responsible for the original decision where practical.
Children and age-related safety
The configured minimum account age is 13. A stated minimum age does not by itself establish that children cannot access a service. The operator must separately assess whether the service is likely to be accessed by people under 18 and, where required, complete and maintain the relevant children’s access/risk assessments and protections.
Emergency situations
SMSocial is not an emergency service. If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, contact the appropriate emergency services or law-enforcement authority in your location.
